To support the NCFS in their work Van Wijland BV in Laren have printed and published calendars. Dickhoff Design has taken care of the design.
Humanitarian Design in Kenya

In 2002, the Eindhoven Design Academy initiated a new master’s degree in Humanitarian Design and Sustainable Style. The new training program places the significance of design within the framework of worldwide, social developments. Students research the ways in which design can promote a better, more sustainable world. During the first year, a group of about eight students did an internship in Kenya during which time they took part in local craft workshops, using materials such as sisal, banana leaves, soapstone, earthenware, and residual waste products. They looked at how design can contribute to the improvement of products and production methods. It is expected that this will increase the range of export opportunities and bring better living conditions to local communities.
The Design Academy exhibited the fruits of their labor in the spring of 2003. In 2004 the student’s experiences were recorded in book form, the design for which Dickhoff Design has provided at no cost.
